Video Editing, where to start? | Premier Pro Dude 2023

You have been watching several reels, movies, cartoon videos, music videos and many TV channel shows, right?

Now, just imagine any of your favorite movie's scenes and just visualize only a fraction of that video like: 2 minutes of scene.

Now, after visualizing it, in your mind (imagination), try to observe what things have been done in that video?

Observe very carefully! (because this is the most precious advice I would ever give!)

You are dissecting the video and understanding the process behind making it!

So, for example, you could have observed that the video fraction consisted of two or more different videos. 

Also, it could have color correction applied to it.

It could have transition effects, dubbed audio and so many things, right?

All of this together created a great looking video which forced you to watch it! 

Let me show you a reference video for understanding it better! 

Also, you could understand the process of making that video only using "observation in your imagination", right?

That means you will require a strong imagination if you want to be an expert of video editing. Additionally, you would also have a curiosity to make your imagination into reality! 

So, if you want to start learning video editing, you need to focus on three things:

• Focus on your observation and Imagination

• Try to understand process behind making of videos and,

• For becoming a great video editor, you must be the master of your visualization (in short, master of imagination)

So, from this moment, watch a few of your favorite videos and try to use your imagination and observe in very detail about how those videos could be made & using what techniques?

What if you are not at all aware about any technology?

That's why even imagination can help you become an expert at anything.

For example, if I watched any alien movie, I would be having questions like: how could a person be standing on the moon?

At that time, if I use my imagination, I can get so many possibilities for thinking and visualizing that scene. I can think in this way:

Imagine a footage of a person standing in front of a plain background. And I shooted two different shots of that scene. Now, I will download one moon video. And, I will place the character's video in front of the moon video & remove the plain background from the first footage and combine these two footages. It will create the same scene that I discussed above.

So, using imagination, you can create anything you want. So focus only on imagination first. 

You have been watching several movies and videos but you have never "observed" the "behind the scenes" of those videos. If you can use your logical and imagination ability together, you can create infinite possibilities in video editing. 

This is the first step to learn video editing; i.e. Focus on imagination
